Backgrounding the app may count as a timeout on some platforms. The hand may be settled as a first-drop. Read the timeout behaviour; some platforms have moved to a "safe" timeout that pauses rather than drops.

iOS vs Android: feature parity

Where the two mobile apps match, and where they diverge.

The two mobile apps, iOS and Android, run the same game client and the same lobby. A reader who plays on Android and switches to iOS will find the same formats, the same stakes, the same KYC flow, and the same withdrawal rail. The differences sit in the app-store-specific flows and in the platform-specific settings.

The mobile app is also the right surface for the responsible-play controls. The session-budget reminder, the deposit-limit setting, and the time-reminder settings are easier to reach on the app than on the desktop client. A reader who uses the controls should default to the app.

Finally, the mobile app is the right surface for a reader whose desktop browser is constrained by an extension policy or a corporate network. The app sidesteps the browser's restrictions and runs against the platform's own network stack.

When to stay on the desktop

The desktop is the right surface for a long session, for a multi-table setup, and for a reader who needs a larger screen to read the rules notes on the side. The mobile app's screen size is constrained; a long session on the app strains the eyes and the battery.

Offline mode and what it covers

The mobile app's behaviour when the network drops.

The mobile app does not support offline play. Rummy is a real-time game; the app requires a stable connection to the platform's lobby. If the network drops mid-hand, the app pauses the hand and waits for reconnection. A reader who returns inside the reconnection window finds the hand restored; a reader who returns after the window finds the hand settled according to the platform's drop rule.

The reconnection window is typically thirty seconds to two minutes. The lobby's current settings will show the window. The desk's recommendation is to play on a stable connection; a reader on a flaky mobile network should consider the desktop client or a wired connection.

What the app does on network restore

The app reconnects, restores the hand, and resumes the timer. The reader's view of the hand is preserved; the reader's hand is not lost. If the reconnection fails, the app falls back to the drop rule and the hand is settled.

Practice mode and offline

The notification channels in the panel cover table openers, withdrawal status, deposit confirmation, responsible-play reminders, and the platform's marketing messages. The marketing messages can be turned off without affecting the other channels; the desk recommends turning off the marketing messages and leaving the other channels on. The reader's exposure to marketing on the app should be minimal; the rest of the notifications serve the reader's session.

Resetting the settings
